Class guidelines

    • This is a lab class: every day is a lab. Attendance is required. We start right on time.

    • However, if you are sick, stay home! Send me (peshkin@northwestern.edu) an email in advance. We'll work it out when you are well.

    • Sorry, you can't come to the other session. Too full.

    • You will need a laptop computer in class every day. It is used as the display part of your 'scope. Your laptop needs an available USB connection to supply power to the 'scope and breadboard. Mac and Windows laptops are OK, including MS Surface. Netbooks may have trouble. Tablets will not work (except Surface works.)

    • The TAs and instructor walk between the rows during class, to help with design and debugging and to answer questions. To make that possible, please tuck your backpack neatly under the table, not behind you.

  • There are electrical outlets under the desks. Choose an outlet that does not not leave the cord crossing an aisle, or crossing rows.

    • No late homework.

    • There always has to be a circuit diagram. Especially while you are working on developing a circuit on breadboard!

    • Neatness counts.

    • You are welcome to work others about homework problems, but do not use the designs of others. Your designs should be your own. It is your responsibility to learn from one another but not rely on one another.
