When to Say "a" or "an"
The English Alphabet has 26 letters. In alphabetical order, they are:
a b c d e f g h i j k l m n o p q r s t u v w x y z
Five of the letters are "vowels". Twenty-one are "consonants":
باللغة الانجليزية نضع a قبل الاسم المفرد المعدود singular count noun
A + consonant sound
If the following word starts with a consonant sound, then we say a.
نضع an قبل الاسماء التي تبدأ بأحرف علّة vowels : a, e, i, o, u
AN + vowel sound
If the following word starts with a vowel sound, then we say an.
Mind the pronunciation of the following word.
ما عدا في الحالات التالية:
an uncle
a unit
This u sounds like a consonant, so we use a.

تذكر: الاسم هو اسم يدل على شيء او صفة لوحدها.
1. لا نضع a\an قبل اسماء بصيغة الجمع. I see books
I see a book
2. لا نضع a \ an قبل اسماء لا نستطيع جمعها, مثلا: love, air, money, suger, salt
مثال: we need suger. I want money
3. ممكن ان نضع كلمات ( مثل صفة او لون ) بين a وبين الاسم التابعة له.
مثال : a good boy. a very big cat
Fill in "a" if needed or leave blank
ضع حرف a في الجمل التالية فقط اذا كان هنالك حاجة له
