Hello and welcome! My name is Ms. Allison Baker and I teach Grade 8 Language Arts on Team Purple at Hillcrest. I also have the privilege of serving as the Grade 8 Purple Team Leader. Prior to joining HMS in 2018, I taught in another public school in CT. This is my 10th year of teaching and I love what I do! I earned my Bachelor's degree in English and Secondary Education from Wheaton College Massachusetts where I also played softball. Go Lyons! In addition, I obtained my Master's degree in Special Education with a concentration in Learning Disabilities from Southern CT State University (SCSU). A few years later, I completed my Sixth Year Diploma and Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration from SCSU. I love learning new things, and I hope to inspire my students to enjoy learning, too!

When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé Brian, my family, and my friends. I also love spending time outside and going for walks in the sunshine.
