Hello and welcome to the Health Services web page of the Carrollton R-VII School District Website. We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and provide information about what we do for the district and for your child/children. We have provided links for head lice information, sick day and medication administration policy guidelines to help answer any questions you might have. If you have any questions or concerns about your child or school health services, please don't hesitate to contact the school nurse in your child’s building.
What do school nurses do?
Monitor absenteeism by contacting parents/guardians when children are absent from school
Provide health care to students / staff and refer to doctor’s care if needed
Provide screenings and referrals for vision, hearing, dental and scoliosis
Promote a healthy school environment
Monitor the implementation of the Wellness Policy Guidelines
Ensure that all students are immunized in accordance to state law
Conduct health related in-services for staff
Promote health education by providing health information to students, parents and staff
Develop and evaluate school health policies
Provide case management for students with special health care needs
Develop Emergency Action Plans /Individualized Health Care Plans for students that have specific medical needs
Ensure that all students have a completed health summary on file
Perform and assist with specialized individual health care needs
