Meet the Teacher/Conoce a la Maestra

I just wanted to tell you a little bit about myself and share with you my expectations as well as my excitement for this school year.

My name is Delmy Orellana and I am the first-grade Dual Language teacher. I attended Kansas State University and graduated in May 2014 with my Bachelor’s degree in Education and an emphasis on English as a Second Language. This is my third year as an educator and at Whitson Elementary. I have to admit I am as excited as I was my first year.

Please know that I understand the importance of preparing our students for the next grade level. It is my goal to provide engaging instruction that challenges students learning, discussion, and develop logical skills for every student.

I also believe that communication with parents is crucial to a successful year. I am in your child's life every day; it's my goal to make a powerful and positive impact, so let's work together to make that happen.

Solo queria contarle un poco sobre mi y compartir con ustedes mis expectativas, asi como mi entusiasmo por este año escolar.

Mi nombre es Delmy Orellana y soy la maestra del dual de primer grado. Asisti en la Universidad de Kansas State University y me gradue en Mayo del 2014 con mi licenciatura en Educaccion y un enfasis en el Ingles com Segundo Idioma. Este es mi tercer año como educadora y enseñando en Whitson Elementary. Tengo que admitir que estoy tan emacionada como era mi primer año de enzeñanza.

Por favor, sepa que entiendo la importancia de prepara a nuestros estudiantes para el siguiente grado. Mi meta es proprcionar instruccion atractiva que desafie a los estudiantes a aprender, discutir, y desarrollar habilidades logicas, para cada estudiante.

Tambien creo que la comunicacion con los padres es crucial para un añi exitoso. Estoy en la vida de su hijo/a todo los dias; es mi objectivo hacer un impacto potente y positivo, asi que trabajemos juntos para que esto suceda.
