During the school year, I make efforts to help students realize the connections between the math they are learning and their world. We can see the structures and patterns of math in architecture, nature, objects in motion, physics, our economy, and so much more! I also emphasize to students that even if they do not plan on using math in their future, there are still great benefits to learning and applying it. Through studying math, they naturally develop their skills in problem-solving, collaborating, critical thinking, and analyzing. These are important skills that are needed for any occupation, especially in today's digital age.
