Library Media Center
Welcome to our Library!
The library is open during regular school days from 7:30 am. to 3:00 pm. During this time students may come to the library to check out materials, read, work on homework, research information, and use the computers. Students may check out materials for two weeks.

The mission of the Topeka Public Schools Library Media Program is to empower all students and staff to be effective users of information and information technology in order to communicate ideas and solve problems in an ever-changing world, and to foster life-long literacy.

Goal of our Media Center:
The goal of our media center is to provide materials, equipment, and assistance to both students and staff to fulfill all their informational needs.
The library media services available to students include:
•Supplying a collection of information resources that meets students’ school and personal needs
•Supplying online reference databases that meet the students’ research needs
•Providing electronic catalog of local and Website resources available in school and district
•Locating information based on individual requests
•Providing instruction in information literacy that aligns with state and national library media standards
•Providing instruction in technology literacy
•Providing reading motivation
•Providing learning environment outside of the classroom.
The library media services available to staff include:
•Supplying a collection of information resources that meets content area needs
•Supplying online reference databases that meet staff research needs
•Supplying information in a variety of formats to meet individual teaching/learning styles
•Providing electronic catalog of local and Website resources
•Supplying audiovisual equipment
•Collaborating to provide coordinated and aligned student instruction
•Providing instruction in information and technology literacy
•Instruction which reinforces reading skills and other classroom learning
•Contributing to educational organization planning and evaluation
•Locating information based on individual/personal requests within the local collection and/or the District collection and beyond.
