FMS Counselors

Ms. Barnett and Ms. Ryan work with students on their schedules and academic concerns, their career planning and with personal issues and social skills. We co-sponsor Student Council and support the  GSA club. 

Ms. Barnett - Hi! I am a counselor for students with last names A-K here at French. I have worked at French as a counselor since 2010. I graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelors in Education and Emporia State University with a Masters in Counseling. I have 1 grown son and a daughter in high school. I also have a Boston Terrier named Stella.

Ms. Ryan - Hello! I work with students with last names L-Z  here at French. I started as a counselor in 2012 (2013 at French).  I have worked with family and youth programs that focus on education, college and career readiness and social/emotional concerns for over 25 years. I have a Bachelor's in psychology from Creighton University in Omaha, a Master's in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University and a Master's in school counseling from Kansas State University. I have two grown sons, a brand new grandbaby and 3 dogs, a Great Dane/Mastiff mix named Tesla, a boxer mix named Grace and one of our new therapy dogs, Kota an aussie-doodle.
