Sam Stein is a junior at Moorhead High and he is well-known for his talent and strength in music. Stein has played the piano since he was five years old.

¨Through the years I began picking up different instruments and experimenting with their sound. I began writing songs so I could combine these sounds into a feeling that words can’t explain,¨ said Stein.

Stein says he often struggles to explain things, so he writes. Stein takes comfort in music and he also likes to use it as a form of connection. “My dream for a while has been to share these songs with the world so everyone can have the opportunity to connect with my music,” said Stein.

This helped to inspire Stein to share these songs rather than keep them to himself. He wanted to share and connect with others through music. In March of last year he released his very first album called, “Same Place, Different Colors.” This year, he released his second album called, “Worlds We’ve Yet To Find” containing 15 tracks. ”I am made of music, that’s why I can better explain myself through music,” said Stein.

He feels that due to his strong love and passion for music he would rather not make it into an occupation or a career, but rather as a hobby and an outlet so he is able to continue to enjoy it.

“My path in life is going to let that be the case.” Stein wants to share his music with everyone who wants hear or see his music. Rather than thinking it as “becoming famous,” Stein sees this as a way to travel the world in all its beauty while making music, sharing it with others, and connecting with others through it.

Music is a something that impacts almost everyone at anytime in their life. Often, we have moments that we are able to attach a certain song to. Whether it be the latest pop song, or a song from another generation that you binge on, and attaching these to fun times with friends, or harder times in life. Music is beautiful and impacts everyone, big or small.

We all love to listen to music or like Sam Stein, love to make beautiful music.
