Private and nonpublic schools in Pennsylvania provide the parents of school-age children a diverse alternative to public schooling. Private schools are available at all grade levels including nursery/kindergarten, elementary and secondary schools.
Hope Academy is licensed by the state of Pennsylvania as a private academic school. Our school is for children who may not fit the model of a typical classroom setting. We offer students a wide range of individualized education options that allow them to develop to their full potential with the ultimate goal of transitioning back into their typical classroom setting.
A student’s school day (8:30 am to 2:30 pm) includes individual intensive teaching sessions, Natural Environment Teaching lessons, manding sessions, social skills training, speech and language group instruction, and behavior modification. The goal of Hope Academy is to provide children with intense intervention at an early age, allowing for integration into the regular classroom.
Related services such as speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, counseling are provided throughout the school day per evaluation recommendations.
Hope Academy is supervised by Education Directors, Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and Lead Special Education Teachers. Each classroom has a maximum of 10 students with one Pennsylvania Certified Teacher and varying Support Staff.
An individualized remediation program will be created for each student based from results of the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP) and Functional Behavior Assessment.
