The AP Program recognizes students who demonstrate college-level achievement through AP courses and exams. Each student receives a certificate and the award is acknowledged on any AP score report that is sent to colleges.
AP Scholar Awards are added to students' online score reports in late August (apscore.org) and students are notified by email. Award certificates are sent in September.
More information on AP Scholar Awards
There are two steps to calculating the awards:
The student's average AP score is determined by ALL exams taken (this year and previous years)
The student's exam scores are checked to see which ones count toward the various awards
A student must meet ALL criteria to be eligible.
Exams taken multiple times only count once. The highest score is used in calculations.
For exams with subscores, only the composite score is used in calculations, not the subscore value.
AP Scholar Awards are academic distinctions that students may cite among credentials on applications and resumes.
Students do not receive a monetary award from College Board for AP Scholar Awards.
