Although there are many positive aspects in our 2023 Ofsted Report (below) , that Inspector considered our procedures for monitoring and reporting safeguarding issues needed improvement and that management of the curriculum should be more detailed.
We immediately implemented new electronic reporting systems and staff training etc and these in these areas we are meeting the independent school standards. With respect to curriculum management, our schemes of work for some subjects, notably religious education & design and technology, were considered incomplete, with teachers being given too much freedom to determine what they teach and when. We are currently hard at work improving this area too.
What is it like to attend this school?
"Pupils appreciate the smaller, home-like feel of this school. They have very positive relationships with school staff. Staff know pupils very well and use this understanding to adapt the learning environment in response to pupils’ individual needs. Pupils and their families feel that the school is a safe environment. " -Ofsted.
With respect to safeguarding, here is a link to the current 'Keeping Children safe in Education' document and if you have an interest in our school, and have concerns about our handling or knowledge of these topics , we are more than willing to discuss them with you and take appropriate action if required.
We believe that for many children the school environment should closely resemble the home environment, that positive relationships and good knowledge of the pupils is the true key to safeguarding, and that from the earliest age pupils should have access to teachers with advanced subject knowledge, skills, experience - and a genuine interest in the pupil's progress and wellbeing.
