Following the recent Ofsted inspection the School has been closed. We are appealing but this takes time and the lease on the building runs out on July 6th. Sue & I are unwilling to take the risk of renewing it in the current circumstances. If the school is to survive in any form we urgently need another organisation, preferably with a similar ethos, to take over the building. It’s fully equipped, in an excellent location, and ready to go. Here’s a link to photos of the classrooms etc. Any interested parties please contact me on nf@tdpsadmin.co.uk. ~Nick Faulkner.

"Educating and taking care of your child is a great responsibility and also a privilege. All children are different and deserve to have a programme of education prepared for them that is tailored to their needs but leaves them ready to face life’s challenges when they are older.
Our commitment to the well being of your child is total. " ~SP

The Setting.
Our aim from the start was to create a school that didn’t feel like a school but more like a family home with carpets and soft furnishings throughout. After all, why on earth should any of the places we ‘live’ in throughout our lives be radically and unnecessarily different.
Ethos.
Our objective has always simply been to provide a viable, rational alternative to mainstream education - we are not affiliated to any religious or educational belief systems, there is no underlying drive to mold your child in our image.
That said, we do actively promote the qualities a pupil requires to be a positive member of British society, and not just as theory in class - in a small school with good staff/pupil relations it’s easier to spot and constructively address issues as they arise.
The Curriculum.
Is simple and straightforward, we teach the National Curriculum, every pupil takes GCSEs in their final year. Our teachers, including those teaching the youngest classes have the skills to teach to at least GCSE standard and they have the freedom to take their pupils off-piste occasionally.
Preparation for future life.
What will Adult life be like in 2035? It seems likely that there will be less differences between the work environment, which will become more comfortable, and the home environment which will be equipped to do work in. The phone will be an indispensable tool. There will probably be a major shift towards small project-orientated teams, with members drawn from a wide range of cultures, ages, neurodiversity etc - Team members will be expected to keep their skills up to date using the internet assisted by AI.
Our school environment is at least close to how adult life may be for our pupils in 2035. I honestly don’t know anything in real life that resembles a mainstream school.
Who is Welcome?
Anyone who would like to spend their childhood years in a relatively sensible environment.
Note:
Neither the State, nor the large Independent schools, will ever offer the service we have successfully provided for the last thirty years.
