Welcome to Mrs. Graves's website!

Hi, welcome to my webpage. My name is Mrs. Shelley Graves and I teach 8th grade ELA at Taylorville Junior High School. I graduated from Hanover College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and the University of South Dakota with a Master's of Education degree. I also have a 6-8 grade middle school endorsement. I am married to Gregg Fuerstenau and have two grown children, Grant and Courtney. I have lived in Taylorville since 2006 and both of my children went to Taylorville schools most of their lives.

My personal philosophy of teaching reflects a deep respect for my students and a commitment to recognizing each student's individual way of learning. I have high expectations of my students and try to help them develop the confidence needed to take responsiblity for their own learning.
