Mr. Alex Knoepker is currently the Director of Bands at Tomah High School and serves as Director of the Stage Band for the KIDS from Wisconsin in the summer. He is an active pianist, accompanist, percussionist, and organist throughout Wisconsin and is involved with many musical endeavors around the state. His true passion lies in the band room, however, and he is thrilled to return to the place that started it all for him--the THS band room!
Mr. Knoepker served in many capacities as a musician and music educator throughout his collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin—Eau Claire. He guest conducted ensembles on the campus throughout his time there and has been involved with several high school show choirs and combo bands around the state. He has coordinated and adjudicated several district and state solo and ensemble festivals in western Wisconsin. Mr. Knoepker’s professional affiliations include the Wisconsin School Music Association, the National Association for Music Education, the Wisconsin Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society, the Wisconsin Music Educators Association, and the National Band Association—Wisconsin Chapter.

Ms. Jennifer Schraufnagel teaches Instrumental Music at Tomah Middle School and High School in Tomah, Wisconsin. She directs the 8th Grade Band, the THS Concert Band, the THS Pit Orchestra and co-directs the THS Marching Band. She also serves as the Tri-M Music Honor Society faculty advisor. This is Ms. Schraufnagel’s eighth year of teaching.
Ms. Schraufnagel is from Slinger, Wisconsin and received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Ms. Schraufnagel received the prestigious Chancellor Leadership Award, which is only awarded to 30 students per semester, for her service to the music department and community during her undergraduate degree. Currently, she is pursuing her master's degree in music education.
During her time in Tomah, Ms. Schraufnagel has given a couple of presentations at various music conferences about music education and bassoon pedagogy. Ms. Schraufnagel is a member of the Wisconsin Concert Band Association (WCBA), the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the Wisconsin Music Educators Association (WMEA), and the American School Band Director Association (ASBDA).
When Ms. Schraufnagel is not in the band room, she enjoys watching the Milwaukee Brewers, traveling with friends, reading, knitting, crocheting, playing in various performing ensembles, and exploring northern Wisconsin through ATV trips.
