In second grade the students have homework every night. The homework is a reinforcement and practice of the skills that we are learning in the classroom. I encourage my parents to reinforce and stress the importance of completing homework each day.

Reading Homework: Students should read each night for at least 20 minutes. At the end of each week complete one weekly task on the monthly reading calendar. The reading homework calendar is due at the end of each month.

Math Homework: reflects skills and concepts that have been taught throughout the year. Math homework will go home on Monday and is due back to school on Friday.

Spelling Homework: includes skills and trick words that we are learning in Fundations. Students should choose an activity each week and complete the task in your spelling journal.
