Mixed Chorus

Level: 9-12

Students who elect to participate in this chorus will study varying genres including classical, multicultural, madrigals, etc. Movement and dance are also incorporated in the curriculum. High School Chorus is for students who have a desire to learn vocal performance and develop basic music fundamentals. Weekly small group lessons are required. Attendance and participation at various concerts and assemblies throughout the year is mandatory. Members are eligible for NYSSMA competitions, All-County Festivals, and the All-State Conference.

Select Choir

Prerequisite:Enrollment in Mixed Chorus and a successful vocal audition

Level: 10-12

This vocal performance ensemble is a select group of students who have passed their audition and whose main goal is to achieve a higher level of technical and vocal performance in all genres of music. Students who elect to participate in this group will study classical, vocal jazz, and show choir styles. Mandatory performances programmed throughout the year include: Fall Concert in October, Winter Concert in December, Music in our Schools Month Concert in March and a Spring Concert in May. Additional performances may be added at the director’s discretion. Students may also elect to participate in NYSSMA festivals, All-County festivals, and various State Music Festivals.
