Dear Finland Elementary Families,
As the final bell rings and we wrap up another incredible school year, I want to extend a huge thank you to all of you. Your support, partnership, and dedication to our school community have made this year a wonderful success.
While summer is a well-deserved time for our students to relax and recharge, it’s also a fantastic opportunity to keep those young minds active. Learning doesn't have to stop just because the school building is closed!
Here are a few fun, easy ways to keep the momentum going this summer:
Visit the Local Library: Dive into a summer reading challenge, explore new worlds through books, or attend free community events.
Explore New Parks: Turn outdoor adventures into science lessons by observing nature, hiking new trails, and staying active.
Play Games as a Family: Board games, card games, and puzzles are incredible tools for building math, strategy, and teamwork skills—all while making great memories.
Looking ahead to the fall, we have some important dates for our upcoming school year. Please take a moment to note these on your calendar:
August 1 (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM) | Kindergarten First Time Riders Event: A wonderful chance to pop in and get familiar with a school bus.
August 17 (3:30 PM – 5:00 PM) | Open House: Come see the classrooms, meet the teachers, and reconnect with friends before the official start.
August 19 | Staggered Start Begins: Students with last names A-G start Aug. 19, last names H-O start Aug. 20 and last names P-Z start Aug. 21. The 4th graders come everyday.
Thank you again for a beautiful school year. I hope your summer is filled with sunshine, laughter, and plenty of family adventures. Stay safe, have fun, and we will see you in August!
Warmest regards,
Brittney McDaniel
