Optional school-wide mathematical thinking, practice, and fun!
One problem targets more grades K-2 standards - ORANGE.
Another problem targets grades 3-5 standards- BLACK.
Benefits
Practice with mathematical thinking, multi-step math problems, and writing/talking about math.
Positive and appropriate use of technology.
Fits with STEM focus.
Not required / Not tied to grade.
Community-wide math fun! Encouraged to work on with family and friends!

Multiple ways to participate
With codes to Nearpod.com / Nearpod app
Use the 5 letter code provided to "join" the problem.
Use the tools given in Nearpod to answer the problem, submit photos, show thinking.
Paper copies
Available near STEM Lab (or via printing from website yourself)
Can be returned to Mrs. Stem, turned in at the office, or emailed to Mrs. Stem
Trying to solve the problems ( an "attempt") is valued more than correct answers!
To qualify as an attempt all answers must include:
Name, Grade, Classroom Teacher
Numerical answer
In a sentence (BLACK)
With labels (ORANGE)
Work shown (and legible)
Submitted POWs will be recorded but will not be graded nor returned
Reward system
Based on Attempts and Completeness
Not based on correctness
All parts tried.
Each 1 attempt = 1 P.A.W.S.
With bonus prizes at significant intervals
