MATHCOUNTS Club is a fun place to perform math problems and engage in math related puzzles and activities. Students in the club are exposed to the types of problems used in the competitions and are prepared for the MATHCOUNTS school and regional competitions, if they choose to participate in such events. Students of all mathematic abilities are encouraged to attend; sometimes students who struggle with “traditional” math are able to shine in the MATHCOUNTS program.

MATHCOUNTS also runs a national mathematics competition for junior high students. Students compete at School, Regional, State, and National levels. For more information about the MATHCOUNTS program visit their web site www.mathcounts.org or click on their logos above.

Beginning the second week of school, interested students will meet once a week to participate in fun math activities. All levels of mathematics are welcome to participate. All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students are welcome to join as club members. High school students may join as club mentors. The school competition is held in January. The top eight students progress to the regional competition which will be held in February. From regionals the top two individuals and the first place team progress to the state Competition which is held in March. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
