I grew up in Redding and graduated from Shasta High School. I earned my BA in Mathematics and minor in History at UC Santa Barbara. After working a few years, I started my family and became an at-home mom to 4 daughters. During that time I volunteered for 8 years at the YMCA which included starting and leading a weekly music class for children ages 1-5, I taught a co-op preschool, and I volunteered many hours in my daughter's classrooms. However, I always wanted to teach and share my love of math with students. In 2015 I completed my teaching credential at CSU Chico and began my teaching career at UPrep that same year. This year I teach Honors Math 8, Algebra 1, and a Math Support class. I am also the junior high department chair, help with junior high cross country, and run Odyssey of the Mind. I am very lucky to work at this awesome school where two of my daughters Madelyn and Kayla attend 12th and 10th grades. My two older daughters, Annie and Olivia, are UPrep Alumni and now both attend college at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. My husband, Toby, is a civil engineer for Caltrans. In my free time besides spending time with my family, I enjoy exercising and relaxing.
