Earth and Space Science is the study of Earth’s place in the universe, the systems that shape our planet, and the impact of human activity on those systems. Students will investigate the formation of the universe and solar system, the processes that drive Earth’s dynamic systems (such as plate tectonics, weather, and climate), and the interactions between the geosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere, and biosphere. The course emphasizes evidence-based reasoning, modeling, and data analysis to explore natural phenomena and human impacts like resource use, natural hazards, and climate change, helping students understand both Earth’s history and its future.
This class will conclude with the Earth Science Regents Exam in June.
In order to take the NYS Regents Exam in June, each student will need to complete 1200 minutes of laboratory time.
As long as each student comes into class prepared, ready to work, and with an open mind, this class will rock! 😉
