Ms. Repetto's Webpage!
Hello Students and Parents/Guardians!!
Here is a little bit about each of my courses...
1. Earth Science
This class will allow you to build your knowledge-base in topography, Earth's interior, surface processes, hydrology, oceanography, astronomy, and so much more. Not only will this class help you fulfill your high school graduation requirements, but it will also help you become more well-rounded in understanding the processes that created and constantly alter our planet. For example, in the future when you are ready to buy a house, the topography and hydrology of the land will allow you to understand how the surrounding landscape would affect your house. Or if you were going to build a house, you'll understand how the type of rock and soil you're looking to build on will be effected by weathering, erosion, and deposition. Or how about meteorology?! We experience weather every. single. day. In this class, you'll learn how to read weather maps and understand the interactions between fronts/air masses to determine the weather forecast...the list goes on and on.
2. Environmental Sustainability (Not running 2018-2019)
This class is new to Spackenkill and is a Project Lead the Way course. This will be our third course within the Engineering Pathway to be added to Spackenkill. If you are interested in Environmental Sustainability it is a good idea to take our 2 engineering classes (Introduction to Engineering & Principles of Engineering) beforehand because it will make for an easier transition into the course if you already have a background in engineering, but it is not a necessity.
