Supply List

4th Grade Class

Dear Fourth Grader,

We hope you have a wonderful summer.  Find time to rest, have lots of fun and read a good book!  It won’t be long until the first day of fourth grade!

Below are the supplies that you will need for next year.  Please try to stick to the items on the list.  You will have lots of materials in your desk and not much room for extras.  You will not need to purchase a rolling bag; a standard backpack will be great. You will have homework, but you will be able to carry it in a standard bag. There should not be any need to carry a lot of textbooks home at any one time.  Please make sure everything you bring is clearly labeled with your name.  Please label your folders in the top right hand corner with your first and last name.

Supplies:

ONE small plastic storage container to hold supplies (No larger than 8 X 5 X 2 ½ . If it is larger

than this, we will have to send it back home. Sorry, there is not a lot of room in the desks.)

2  packages of sharpened #2 pencils (labeled)

a hand-held pencil sharpener (please, nothing with batteries!)

2  red pens

3  2-pocket folders (the plastic ones last longer, but the paper ones are fine)

(* RED - Reading & Writing, GREEN- Science & Social Studies,  BLUE- Math)

ONE  2-pocket folder with the center piece for holding papers for the reading log

3  marble notebooks (IF possible: RED -  Reading & Writing,  BLUE - Math,  GREEN – Science & Social Studies)

a small box of crayons (No more than a 24 pack) or colored pencils

a small box of colored markers

6 to 8 glue sticks (to be collected & used when needed)

a pair of scissors

an eraser or a pack of pencil-top erasers

2 Highlighters

Two – 1 Gallon plastic bags (NOT the whole box!) for storing your library book & your art smock

One package of 3x3 Post-its (to be collected & used when needed)

□          An 8 ½ X 11 white board

□    5 BLACK (low odor) Dry Erase Markers (we may have to ask for more during the year if they

 dry out.)

An old (but clean!) sock to use as a whiteboard eraser

Headphones or earbuds to use with the Chromebooks  (Nothing expensive. You canfind them in the dollar store.)

* We would prefer that you purchase the colored folders and notebooks that we are requesting.  It is

extremely helpful when keeping us organized.

We hope you enjoy your summer.  Get lots of rest because we have a busy year ahead.  Don’t forget to bring a healthy snack on the first day.  We look forward to seeing you very soon!!

Warmly,

Mrs. Marcinelli &  Mrs. Diaz-Batista
