Homework
Homework is the time students spend outside the classroom in assigned learning activities and is an important part of your child’s education. The purpose of homework should be to practice, reinforce, or apply acquired skills and knowledge. Homework serves to develop regular study skills and the ability to complete assignments independently.
Students will receive 2-4 daily homework assignments, and in addition, should read about 20-30 minutes nightly. Typically, homework will not be assigned over the weekend. Although, there will be opportunities this year to complete long-term projects.
Grading Policy
Assignments will be graded using the New York State Rubric: 1, 2, 3, 4
Overall grades for subjects will be a combination of class work, tests and quizzes, projects, homework, and effort.
Attendance
Attendance is vital to the success of your child’s education. It is crucial that you have your child at school before 8:45. A written excuse is required by law if your child is absent.
