Homework Guidelines

Homework : You should expect that your child will have some type of homework most everyday. You will always find the homework assignments written in the assignment agenda. It will go home everyday. I encourage you to set up with your child a scheduled time for homework each day. Students should be able to do most assignments independently, but do help if it is completely necessary. If you notice that your child is not able to do an assignment on his or her own, please email a note or jot a note to me about the assignment

Homework is usually assigned Monday through Thursday and occasionally on Friday for long term assignments. It is typically reviewed the following day and checked for completion. Students are expected to copy homework assignments into their assignment agenda. It is the student's responsibility to keep track of their work and return it, completed, to school.

In addition to regularly assigned homework, students should read for at least 15 minutes every day. Math facts are expected to be mastered early in the year, so the more practice the student has with the facts the better. Multiplication is used quite frequently and will be applied to lessons throughout the year. A good rule of thumb is to read and practice math facts every day that you eat!
