Reminder: School starts at 8:05- If you are dropping your child off at 8:05 they are tardy.

Another Reminder: A student is chronically absent if he or she misses as few as 2 days of school a month (2 days per month times 9 months = Chronic Absent. Being at school on-time is important!

Colder temperatures are on the way!! Make sure your child dresses warm and has a coat, hat, and gloves with them each day.

A special thanks to the Leipsic Volunteer Fire Department for their support in providing our students the opportunity to go through their “Smokehouse”.

We would like to thank parents for their support in our Box Tops for Education collection. We appreciate your time and effort in cutting out the box tops and sending them to school. Please continue to send the box tops in with your child.

If your child/children are going home from a school a different way than normal we need a note or a phone call from you explaining the change.

Homework assistance is provided each morning from 7:00-7:45. If your child is in need of a little extra help take advantage of this opportunity. If you have any questions contact the school at 419-943-2165.

Putnam County Help Me Grow provides free services for young children and their families.
 -Free Screenings- Children birth-age 5(vision, hearing, speech, physical development and behavior), please call for an appointment. 
 -Home Visiting- All Putnam County first time moms are eligible for a one time visit to provide information on prenatal health, infant care and fun activities to help your child reach developmental milestones. Ongoing visits are available to eligible first time pregnant mom or first time mom with baby under 6 months of age. Call or visit our webpage for more information.
 -Early Intervention- Evaluation of any Putnam County child birth to age three for concerns relating to skills like talking, walking, or behavior and connection to ongoing specialized services.

School Attendance is one of the biggest indicators of how successful students are at school. 

Positive Effects of Daily and On-Time School Attendance
 - helps develop and practice respect and responsibility
 - helps to promote good life habits and skills
 - helps increase learning
 - students feel more connected to school
 - students are more likely to stay out of trouble

Negative Effects of Daily and On-Time School Attendance
 - student misses out on classroom learning
 - student misses out on social experiences
 - student can have difficulty learning
 - catching up with missed learning can be twice the work
 - students can feel disconnected from school and peers
 - students may feel stressed and/or embarrassed
