This is my twelfth year teaching at Pleasant Valley. I teach Spanish 1 at the 8th grade level and World Language at the 7th grade level. A little about me: My family consists of my husband, who works as the Project Search coordinator for Muscatine, our seven year old daughter, Addie, our four year old daughter, Nora, and our two year old son, Bennett. I graduated from Geneseo High School and went to Western Illinois University where I earned my teaching certificate in Social Studies and Spanish. I then taught Spanish I, II, and III at a small school nearby called Bushnell-Prairie City High School for two years. While there, I helped coach High School and Junior High Volleyball and formed a Spanish Club. I also had the opportunity to take a group of students to Europe on a couple of occasions, which were unforgettable trips. I've had the opportunity to travel to England, Spain, France, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Morocco, and Canada. I just recently completed my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction. In regards to using my Spanish while traveling, I traveled to Mexico almost every summer while in high school on mission trips and I have been to Spain four times, two of which I stayed with a Spanish family. I truly believe that learning a new language is one of the most important and enriching skills you can learn! It opens up so many opportunities and provides a new way of looking at the world around you! I look forward to meeting many new students this year and working together to make this an amazing year!
