BIOGRAPHY: I have been teaching at Stoughton High School since 1994 and also graduated from SHS in 1988. I am a native in the truest sense of the word, with my paternal side of the family living in the Stoughton/Oregon area as far back as at least 1853! My husband and I are happy to have raised our two daughters here.
During my time at SHS, I have taught a variety of courses including, AP US Government and Politics, American Government, American History, and Western Civilizations. Most recently I have been teaching American History: Reconstruction to the Present, Ancient World History, and Modern World History. I have been involved in many leadership roles and been a part of many district and building committees, including serving for 15+ years as department chair, SASD Social Studies Curriculum Review, Technology, Grading Committee, Infinite Campus, SHS Report Card, PBIS, RTI, and Strategic Planning at the district level.
I hold a BS-E from UW-Oshkosh in Broadfield Social Science, with a minor in History and an emphasis in Political Science. In addition, I have a MS-E from UW-Whitewater in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Adolescent Learning. I have also taken additional coursework from other universities; including Seattle Pacific University, University of St. Thomas, Augustana College (SD), University of Iowa, and UW-Madison to support my own professional learning, my student's learning, and increase my teaching strategies.
