A Pukeko is blue, black and a bit white with feathers. It has a red beak that helps them eat food and the Pukeko can fly by using there wings covered in feathers. Pukekos are similar to other species of birds around the world. The Pukeko is one of New Zealand most recognised birds to locals and tourists. Also a Pukeko has two red legs that help them walk around. Their legs are long so that they can walk or run around. Pukeko are warm blooded.

Ducks can be white, green, black, grey and brown. They have yellow beaks. They are found in fresh water and sea water. They can fly using their wings that are covered in feathers. Females are called hens and males are called drakes. A duck is warm blooded. Baby Ducks are called ducklings. Some ducks eat fish and insects. When Ducks are hungry they like to eat sparrows eggs and eels. Ducks are birds.

A fish is an animal which lives and breathes in water. Fish have been on earth for more than 500 million years. They are cold blooded and have fins and scales around there body. They have excellent senses of touch, sight, taste, smell and hearing. In some species males and females have different shapes of body or the colour of the body. They eat other fish, fish eggs and aquatic plants.

Frogs is a small animal belonging to a group called amphibians. They live part of their lives in water when they are tadpoles and the other part of it on land. They do not need to drink water to survive. The smaller frogs usually insects, spiders, bugs and worms. They do not eat anything dead. They like their food alive and moving when they eat it. Frogs do not go around chasing there prey. Frogs swallow their prey hole because they can not chew the food they eat.
