English I Honors

Honors English I Syllabus - Daily Agenda

Students in English 1 will be working with fictional and nonfictional literature. We will read short stories, poetry, and classic fiction pieces such as Romeo and Juliet and The Odyssey. Students will continue to build on grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills as required by the NC Standard Course of Study.

How is Honors English I different than Standard English I?

Students in honors English classes will focus more on essay writing and in-depth literary analysis. Reading outside of class and homework may be required as needed. Expectations are higher and more rigorous and the pace moves faster than a standard English class.
