Welcome to SMV K4

Here at St. Mary’s Visitation, our goal in the K4 program is to develop social and emotional skills, number sense, imagination and creativity through play. We also provide many opportunities for literacy development through interesting stories and fingerplays. Movement is encouraged, both through lively songs and outdoor activities. We celebrate our Catholic faith by praying often throughout the day, learning about Jesus and being kind to each other.

Virtue-Based Early Childhood in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee

Guiding Principles

The Virtue Based Early Childhood Program in the Archdiocese of Milwaukee is committed to providing all children enrolled in their 3 year old, 4 year old, and 5 year old kindergartens a strong religious and academic foundation for all future learning environments. We hope to foster, through hands on experiences and intentional playbased curriculum, a sense of wonder and curiosity aimed at developing the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual aspects of the whole child.

The schools will engage each child in:

 Higher ordered thinking in a creative environment using sound, developmentally and age-appropriate practice and curriculum based on sound research

 Intentional age appropriate faith formation.

 An environment in which the Catholic Christian virtues of Faith, Hope and Love are taught, demonstrated and modeled.

 Relevant and meaningful play that stimulates the intellectual, social, physical, emotional and spiritual development of the whole child.

Saint Mary’s Visitation Parish School Mission Statement

St. Mary's Visitation Catholic Parish School exists to direct children toward God and toward Christian service to society through Catholic religious formation, academic challenge and continuous improvement.

Saint Mary’s Visitation Parish School Philosophy

St. Mary's Visitation Parish School endeavors to provide an atmosphere of high expectations that challenge the individual and promote lifelong learning so each student can reach the fullness of his or her individual potential. We provide opportunities for the development of each student's physical and creative abilities in a Catholic climate where we promote social responsibility and an attitude of acceptance toward all. Respect, responsibility and right relationships lie at the foundation of our school community. Through prayer, study and community activities we invite students and their families to more deeply recognize and respond to the reign of God in our time.
