Playing Instruments

Time to play and practice those instruments at home! Play through old music, new music or write your own! Below is a website that I like to use to find my favorite songs. If you are looking for a particular song, especially church music, please let Mrs. Blomeke know and she will see if she can track it down for you! Many times, Googling the song title and "sheet music" may do the trick!

Creating Music

Kids are experts at creative play, and music-making is no exception! Ask your child to create a song using their favorite instrument. No instruments at home? Make one! We are all blessed with our voices as a wonderful instrument to use and explore as well!

Listening to and Analyzing Music

Listening: Listen to any other song of your choosing. There are so many genres of music to choose from- both sacred and secular, with text and without! Students may also choose to complete the 30 Day Song Challenge, found here!

While listening, your child can draw what they hear! Students can also talk about ideas such as... instruments, rhythm, melody, harmony, mood, dynamics (volume level), tempo (speed) and form (structure of the song).
