What is Media Class?

During class we work on a variety of things! Here is a general look at topics we will cover:

Information Literacy

We will be engaging in the research process as we look at ways to access, evaluate, and communicate information in different ways. We will also use a variety of skills and strategies to understand nonfiction and informational texts.

Reading

Students are also introduced to a variety of fiction and nonfiction materials. We will also explore various genres of literature.

An important part of Media Class is check out time! Each week your child will be checking out one “good fit” book, one free choice book, and an optional magazine or book depending upon their grade level.

What is a "good fit" book?A "good fit" book is a book the reader enjoys, which can be read with a high level of accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.

Digital Citizenship: Understand and practice appropriate and safe uses of technology
