Teaching Philosophy

I am committed to establishing a stimulating and challenging classroom environment, which is effective in providing optimal learning opportunities for all students. In achieving an atmosphere of mutual respect between teacher and student that all learning goals and behaviour expectations should be clearly and regularly communicated. The resources and methods which I use should be carefully considered, thoroughly prepared and of relevance and interest to the individual classes that I teach.

Student learning does not exist solely in the classroom. My enthusiasm and motivation towards all aspects of school life should always be apparent to the students.

Sharing resources and ideas, offering support and being prepared to listen to and take advice when offered or needed is inevitably of benefit to the students I teach. To this result I am committed to working as an effective team member.

In fulfilling each aspect of this personal teaching philosophy I believe that constant self-evaluation and the perpetual development of my own skills is a necessity.
