Schedule & Grading

STEM and STEM Effort Grades

The STEM Lab curriculum is aligned with Minnesota State Standards in Science and Engineering and the National Education Technology Standards.

Specialists use this consistent scoring system for measuring content specific state standards.

· There are different state standards assessed each quarter. Only the summative assessment(s) are entered into Infinite Campus. Therefore, the number of entered grades is related to the number of standards assessed that quarter. 10/10 points means the student is exceeding a specific state standard.

· Specialists typically contact a parent during the quarter if a student’s formative assessment(s) demonstrate that he/she is struggling with a standard (1: Does Not Meet Standards) or if there is a specific learning concern.

· This scoring system is also used to assess effort. Each Specialist has an effort rubric specific to his/her environment posted on the school website.
