All students who audition WILL be cast! No one will be cut. Every role is important; auditions are done to provide the directors with the information we need to cast everyone in the role they need to be in to make the show a success.
All students will learn the following on Nov. 4th:
Wild and Free - measures 1-14 (beginning to :46) Wild and Free (accompaniment - no vocals)
It's Showtime - measures 53-56 (start track at 1:17)
I Like to Move It - measures 47-58 (start track at 1:15, start singing after "Move It")
Dialogue excerpts are below and will be handed out on Friday. Students in 4th/5th/Ensemble should memorize Candy Hammernose's lines, older students should practice all excerpts, but memorize the Marty & Alex dialogue.
Choreography- There is not a specific audition for Choreography. We will watch you working during rehearsal.
Middle schoolers wishing to be considered for a lead should be prepared to sing all 3 excerpts and perform dialogues in-person on Nov 7.
All others must submit a video audition of all 3 excerpts plus a dialogue. Videos must be posted to the student's folder in the provided Google Drive file no later than 8pm on Nov 9. Please label each file with student's name and which excerpt it is. Late videos cannot be accepted due to the deadline for casting. Kids do get sick, so please film right away. You can always refilm if you are practicing a lot.
Video tips:
Film in a quiet room
For dialogue, you can have a parent or sibling read the other part. They do not need to be on camera. Lines should be memorized.
At least one song should be memorized, and your audition video should display confidence. Please do not use props, dress in a costume, or dance around.
Watch your video back. Can you easily be heard and seen? If not, refilm it.
If you are having difficulty, your video may be too long.
If you cannot figure out how to put the video in the Google Drive folder above. Please email it to Mrs. Binder dbinder@stann-emmaus.org
Callbacks will be Nov 11.
