Kindness is always expected.

Rules - Students are expected to behave in a respectful, responsible, and safe way.  Together, students and I will create class norms and consequences.

Homework-  Homework is used to review concepts worked on in the classroom.  After it is completed and put back in the backpack, students should check it off as completed in the assignment book.  Homework is posted daily on the class website.  Specific math fact and spelling homework is typically not given although it is expected that students are practicing these skills. 

Snack-  Snacks should be an easy, non-messy, healthy food. Students are responsible to clean up after themselves.  Please save yogurt and other messy items for lunch.

Water - All students should have a reusable water bottle (especially during the warm months).  They can hydrate as needed throughout the day during any transitional time.  No permission to get water is necessary. Students should not get up during whole group lessons.  Water is the only beverage allowed in the classroom.  Please save other favorite beverages for lunch. This water bottle should be separate from their lunch beverage.  

Birthdays - We will celebrate birthdays with the students by creating a birthday book for the birthday child. Please do not send in any invitations unless it is for the whole class or for all the girls or all the boys. The same goes for if you are inviting students from 3B.

Prepared- All students should come to school prepared each day. Students should sharpen pencils before class starts, at snack, or at the end of the day.

Bathroom- Students should use the bathroom upon entering the building in the morning. They should use it at snack, lunch, and recess. They can ask to use the bathroom during transitions. Students should not interrupt a lesson unless it is an emergency. Students need to use the bathroom respectfully.
