Allergy Action Plan
In the event of a child showing signs of an allergic reaction, our procedure is as follows.
Allergic reactions such as;
· Itchy, swollen watery eyes
· Hives, rash, sting
· Runny nose, swelling to lips
· Clammy appearance
Parents will have been asked to sign a consent form for us to administer antihistamine liquid for children. This is in registration forms and noted on index cards.
We will administer antihistamine liquid for children as directed on the instructions. This is kept in the kitchen cupboard.
Parents will be contacted and we will record, sign and date on the incident forms and illness tracker.
If the allergy worsens before parents or carers arrive and the allergy escalates, we will follow PFA procedures and call 999.
In the event of anaphylaxis Ofsted will be notified.
