Daily Step by Step Procedures for Pre K
Morning drop off in the new gym where students will get a temperature check by teacher or aide. Students will be 6ft apart so a mask is not required while in the gym. Mask required to enter school.
8:20am students will walk to the classroom with aide utilizing walking ropes and spaced 6ft apart. Masks will be required in the hallway. Masks will be required in the classroom unless they are 6ft. apart.
Before entering the classroom, students will use hand sanitizer from the no touch classroom dispenser on the wall.
Students will enter the classroom using the ENTER door and exit using the EXIT door.
Children will go to desks and unpack at their desk.
Prayers will be recited from their desk.
Morning work will be completed from their desks.
Morning meeting will be conducted on the floor. Children will sit on poly dots appropriately spaced.
Class work will be completed at desks, or specials will come to the cohort.
Every student will wash hands before and after snack and lunch time.
Children will eat snacks and lunch with their cohort in their classroom.
There will be no sharing of food or any food from the outside brought into the classroom.
There will be no use of the microwave for students’ lunches or snacks.
Recess will be outside on Pre-K playground wearing masks.
Rest time will be after lunch and recess. Children will lay on towels brought from home and kept separately at school in zip lock bags. Each child will have their own towel. Towels will be sprayed each day with lysol after use.
Centers will be held after rest time in the afternoon. Students will have their own center activity. Centers will be disinfected at the end of each use.
Children may play with toys individually or in small groups appropriately distanced. Toys will be set aside and then disinfected at the end of day.
All toys and hard surfaces will be disinfected at the end of each day.
After the student has packed up for dismissal, they will use hand sanitizer and exit through the EXIT door.
Virtual for school closure:
If sent to full time virtual learning at any point during the year, the Pre K teachers will transfer all lessons to Google Classroom.
Seesaw may be used.
Classes will consist of live stream, independent work, recordings and use of video. At times, students will be asked to watch a video or presentation and then return live to the teacher for assignments and work.
In order for the students to be marked present, they must log in several times throughout the day and participate in our morning meeting.
Virtual students must follow all deadlines imposed by the teacher.
All assessments will be given virtually on an individual basis.
Teachers may use the camera on the student’s device in order to ensure the students remain on task.
Virtual learning will include live instruction as well as supplemental instruction throughout the day.
Special classes will follow the schedule set by the school. Students will log on to the special teachers link for class.
Virtual for at home/sick students:
If a student is home sick or quarantined, students must log on to Google meet link during morning meeting and end of day meeting.
The students need to be logged in during the duration of the classroom instruction in order for them to be marked present.
