Here you go -

AD's - please pass on to your XC coaches:

Good morning all - thank you for all of your feedback and support. It certainly makes my job easier having all support. Based on a few factors, we are going to continue with the meet on Tuesday, but simply move it back a little bit in time. Although the hourly forecast doesn't come down a ton, the evening temps have certainly "felt" MUCH better as the sun gets lower. In prepping for this decision, I've been out each night taking note of the temps (I know they were cooler) and how it felt at different times of the night and feel the latest we can start is 6:45pm (with BOYS running first). The sun sets at 7:50pm so we may have some girls trickling in around 8. I know this isn't ideal for getting home at a really early time, but here are the details:

  • 6:45pm - Boys will run

  • 7:15pm - Girls will run

  • No awards ceremony (unless we get done early....I'm super bummed about this as it's my favorite time)

  • We will compile results and I'll do my best to get medals to each team before you leave. I will mail out what doesn't picked up that night.

Here are a couple other notes related to set-up and clean-up.

  • Same bus parking procedures - drop off by the Softball field, turn around in the Cornell maintenance lot, and park up at the MS parking lot.

  • If you could please help us with trash as you leave, that would be great. It will be dark as we're cleaning up and will be difficult to find everything.

One last note on safety - obviously, the runners' safety is our main concern. In walking through this and talking with all of you, I don't feel we are being irresponsible by having the meet. Many of you suggested your kids have been training in the heat and will be good. Here's what I'd at least like you to consider. It generally is NOT the better runners/more experienced runners who have issues in the heat. If you feel you have some new runners or runners who might struggle exerting themselves in higher temps or runners with health/breathing issues, possibly consider sitting them out this first meet. I trust you know your athletes, but it may be a good consideration. In the end, I trust and support your decisions. As always, we will have medical staff on hand.

Thank you all for your feedback - it is much appreciated! See you tomorrow - love me some good XC! I'll be going for my 8th consecutive title in the gator.... :)

IF YOU NEED 20% OFF RUNNING SHOES!

Greetings Coaches:

The summer has flown by and the Cross-Country season is almost upon us! We hope your teams are feeling prepared and have had a good summer of training. I wanted to take the time to make all coaches aware of our 20% off Team Discount Program which is good year-round*. The athletes only need to mention which school they compete for to receive his or her discount.

Our goal is to fit your athlete in the most appropriate footwear for their feet. By taking a little extra time to properly fit, we hope we can provide your team with not only a comfortable and enjoyable running experience, but a healthy one as well. We offer specialty footwear options from Asics, Brooks, Saucony, Nike, New Balance, Hoka, and Mizuno for training shoes and will carry Nike, Saucony, and New Balance competition footwear options for Cross-Country.

If you would like Running Wild to come directly to your school to do a team sale, we would welcome the opportunity to do so! Just give us a call (563-323-7025) to schedule a date and time.

On behalf of Running Wild, I would like to express my appreciation for your continued support of the store. These types of events wouldn't be possible without great coaches like you.

Thanks for doing business with us.

Sincerely,

John Parker
