Serving Others

Making Art for a worthy cause.

The Memory Project

Every year the FMHS Art Club and NAHS members participate in The Memory Project in which we paint/draw portraits of orphaned children.

Club members work all year raising money to participate in this project. It costs quite a bit of money to send these artworks around the world as well as the work that it takes to organize such a global task. Each portrait costs $15, so imagine how much money we need! Some of the participation fee also goes to the organization caring for the child. So every penny raised is worth it!

These one of a kind portraits are cherished by the children who receive them (as most do not have pictures from their childhood as they grow up). Portraits may be drawn, painted, computer based, in color or black-and-white. Each artwork is no bigger than 9"x12". When we send our artworks, we include a photo of the artist so each child can see who made this beautiful gift. Once received, we in turn get a photo of the child holding their portrait. It is quite special!
