The Plan

Our Planned Route

July 22 - late August

We will leave from Port Townsend, Washington just North of Seattle on July 22. Our plan is to head north while making a few stops in the San Juan Islands before crossing into Canada. Once in Canadian waters we will explore the Gulf Islands, while still heading north. We plan to spend around a month going around Vancouver Island counter clockwise. While cruising around the western shores of Vancouver Island, we will be in the open Pacific Ocean. This will be great practice for our trip down the west coast. We will return to Port Townsend and prepare for our next voyage.

Early September

Starting the end of August, we will start watching for a good weather window to head out into the open Pacific Ocean and down the coastline on our way to San Francisco. From San Francisco we will continue south to the Channels Islands. We will check out of the United States in San Diego and head to Mexico.

October...ish?

We will check into Mexico in a port just south of Tijuana called Ensenada. From there we will make our way down the west coast of Baja California. We will not be a hurry and will move slower from this point on. Once we are down to Cabo San Lucas, we will wrap around the tip and head north towards La Paz to explore the Sea of Cortez (Gulf of California). We plan to spend a lot of time exploring the Sea of Cortex.

After Mexico

Well, we don't know. We don't want to rush, so we don't have an end goal. So, we will figure it out when the time comes.

August 2020

We will return to Joseph after putting our boat into storage (somewhere) to get ready for the 20/21 school year.
