1. How many students are in each class?
Pre-Kindergarten = 15
Kindergarten = 28-30
Grades1-8 = An average of 30-35 per class
2. What are the tuition fees?
The tuition fees for 2014-15 are as follows:

*Must be registered, participating member of st. Mary Parish and using the weekly envelopes on a regular basis for a minimum of one calendar year prior to acceptance.

4. What are the school hours?
The regular school schedule starts promptly at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:00 p.m. for Grades K - 8 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. School is dismissed at 2:00 p.m. every Wednesday.
Minimum day hours are 8:00 - 11:45 a.m. for grades K - 8 and 11:15 for Pre-Kindergarten.
5. Is there child care?
We are very proud of our Kids' Club facility. The facility is open from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. when school is in session. Costs for participation are as follows:
For 30+ hours per month: $5.75 per hour (first child) and $5.50 (siblings)
For less than 30 hours per month: $6.00 per hour (first child) and $5.75 (siblings)
Drop in Rate: $6.75 per hour
Class Rate (when attending Enrichment Classes): $25.00
There is a $70 registration fee for the first child; $125 for two children; $130 for three or more children BEFORE August 1st. AFTER August 1st there is a $80 registration fee for first child; $135 for two children; $140 for three or more children. There is a $55.00 Snack/Supply Fee PER family.

6. Is the junior high departmentalized?
Junior high grades are departmentalized and have different teachers for Science, Social studies, Math, and English. Presently, Pre-Algebra is taught in grade 7. Grade 8 includes Pre-algebra and an introduction to Algebra. Algebra enrichment classes are offered to qualified students in Grade 8 during the zero period.
7. In addition to the standard academic classes, what other classes/resources are offered at St. Mary School?
Additional Activities Include:
Students attend Mass and other church activities on a regular basis.
All classes receive instruction in Spanish, Art Appreciation and Computers.
A resource specialist is available to students. motor development skills are offered to grades K, 1 and 2.
Physical Education is taught twice a week to Grades 3 - 8.
Seventh and 8th grades take drawing class.
Music is taught once a week by a music specialist.
Middle School grades participate in Science Fair.
Faith Families, which are typically comprised of one student in each grade level, meet at least once a week to celebrate our Catholic Faith through activities, prayer, song and play.
Character Counts, a program on integrity and responsibility, is offered to Grade 6 in conjunction with the Walnut Creek Police Department.
The Parent Education Program (PEP) on drug awareness is given by parent volunteers to students in Grades 1-5.
Junior Achievement is a parent volunteer program for Grades K-8 that educates young people to value free enterprise, business, and economics.
Youth educators visit Grade 7. Field trips and guest speakers are offered throughout the school year.
Drama/Musical Theater and M.U.S.E. instrumental band are two optional after-school programs offered at st. Mary School.
Our After-School Enrichment Programs include Kids Kreative and Berkeley Chess School, to name a few.
8. Are uniforms worn at st. Mary?
All students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 8 wear a uniform.
