Open to all 9th through 12th graders, Upper School Choir is a choir of 60-70 singers on average. Music and activities are designed to train and develop the unique qualities of the adolescent voice. Students will receive extensive training on sight-singing, ear training, rhythm skills and healthy vocal technique. Activities include participation in seasonal concerts/chapel services, school assemblies, social events, and Modern Voices pop show. In addition, students are given the opportunity to participate in individual activities including auditions leading to the TMEA or TPSMEA All-State Choirs, roles in the upper school musical production, and membership in the Madrigals. Performances and rehearsals for co-curricular concerts are a core part of the curriculum. Rehearsals occur during the school day with four 45 minute classes per rotation of classes ( approximately 3 times/week).
