Dr. Karzan Saleem Ismael

I am KARZAN SALEEM ISMAEL, lecturer and head of the City Planning Engineering Department, at Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU), Technical College of Engineering (TCE), I have PhD degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning from Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary, in 2023 with distinction. I earned a Master's degree in Transportation Engineering and Planning from the University of Salford/Manchester, United Kingdom, in 2016 with excellent marks. I also received a BSc in Engineering Urban Planning at Sulaimani Polytechnic University in 2012 with a very good mark.

• I have been the head of the City Planning Engineering Department since 2024.

• Since December 2025, Assistant Coordinator to the Future Transport Visions Group (FTVG)/UK.

 Publications: I have (15) published articles, (6) conference papers, and (1) published book.
