I am Dr. Arsalan Azeez Marif, currently serving as a Lecturer in the Garden Design Department at Bakrajo Technical Institute (BTI), which is part of Sulaimani Polytechnic University (SPU). I am passionate about contributing to the development and improvement of academic and research standards within the institution. I earned my Ph.D. in Soil and Water Science, specializing in Water Quality, from the University of Salahaddin-Erbil, College of Agricultural Engineering Science in 2023. This degree allowed me to deepen my understanding of the complex dynamics of soil and water systems, with a particular focus on how water quality impacts agricultural productivity and environmental sustainability.

Prior to my doctoral studies, I completed my Master of Science (MSc) in Soil Science and Plant Nutrition at the University of Bingol, Faculty of Agriculture, in Turkey in 2016. This academic journey provided me with a solid foundation in soil science and its crucial role in supporting healthy, sustainable plant growth. My research interests have consistently revolved around the intricate relationships between soil and water, emphasizing the importance of maintaining and enhancing water quality, which is essential for agricultural success, environmental health, and the well-being of local communities.

In addition to my academic background, I have made significant contributions to the scientific community through my research, resulting in the publication of eight peer-reviewed articles. These publications reflect my commitment to advancing knowledge in the areas of soil science, water quality, and environmental sustainability. I am also deeply committed to sharing this knowledge with my students and colleagues at BTI, fostering a collaborative environment for learning, research, and innovation. Through my teaching and research, I aim to inspire the next generation of scholars and professionals in the field of agricultural sciences, helping them to address the pressing environmental challenges we face today.
