Coordinate Geometry Unit

Project Information

1. Download the following apps to your ipad: Geoboard and Hopscotch
2. Open Geoboard. Create a geometric design using the elastics. This is the design you will be replicating in your coding program.
3. Take a screenshot of final design in Geoboard.
4. Use Hopscotch to code your design created in Geoboard.
   1. Test your code frequently to make sure the right movements are being programed.
5. Once you have your original design coded/drawn in Hopscotch, you must do a transformation to the whole design (rotation, reflection, translation) in the same file.
   1. This transformation should require a different “action” (than the original drawing) to make the drawing “go.”
6. Once everything is completed, you will be sharing all of your information in an iMovie.

Requirements:

1. You must have at least 20 different steps in your code in your original design (ex. Set angle, move forward = 2 steps).
2. You must submit a screenshot of your original design from Geoboard.
3. Your project name in Hopscotch should be your name.
4. Your object should be drawing a “trail” so that the image that is being drawn can be seen.
5. For the transformation, the “trail” color should be different from the original design.
6. Once everything is completed you will put the following into an iMovie:
   1. put your screenshot of your original image
   2. recording of your program in Hopscotch
   3. screen shots of your code
   4. what transformations were done to your original image
7. Feel free to add special touches such as voice-over explanations of your process.
8. Upload your iMovie to YouTube and import the video into your Numbers file.

Here's an example of what your final product will look like.
