Welcome to the start of a new school year! Our focus this year will be on creating a student-centered environment that will be conducive to student achievement.
Required Materials:
Notebook paper (this will need to be replaced as needed)
2 Plastic Red Folders
Composition Book
Pencils: students are expected to do math work in pencil only
Small hand-help pencil sharpener
1 package of red pens
Erasers
Map pencils
Ruler
3 ring zippered pencil pouch or pencil box
****** Additional supplies may be needed as requested by the teacher******
Grading Procedures:
Grades will consist of a combination of daily grades and test grades. All tests will count as 40% of the final grade. Daily grades will consist of homework/warm-ups (10%) and daily work/ quizzes (50%). All assignments should be turned in on time. If an assignment is not turned in on time, the student will receive the following:
*****10 pts. Deducted for each day******
*****After three days, the assignment will no longer be accepted during the class period. The student will need to make up the assignment during before or after-school tutorials for a maximum grade of a 70. *******
Absentee Policy:
Any student that is absent will be responsible for picking up make-up work the day he/she returns to school. Students are allowed two make-up works for each day of absence.
Classroom Rules:
Students are expected to follow ALL classroom rules. Classroom rules are unified throughout the building. Claughton Middle School students use the K.E.Y.S.S. (Knowledge Empowers Your Social Skills) program to promote social development.
