This week in virtual school students and the face to face class your child will learn:

Greeting Circle: Wonderful Word: Astronomy. Students will explore the concept of astronomy and the changes of the day, night, seasons and more. Read Aloud-Time. Literacy. Writing- Write your first and last name. Drawing pictures and words to name the pictures (labels). Review: Alphabet. Write and identify the letters of the week.
1:00pm:
Math - Count and identify numbers. Patterns.

NEW: Tuesday and Wednesday June 1 and June 2 are Field Day. Please have your child bring extra water, sports drinks, and a hat and extra clothes in backpack. This is for face to face students. The virtual students will be asynchronous learners.
NEW: The last day of school is next Friday, June 4. It's been a wonderful year with unforgettable memories and experiences.
We will have our Pre-K Awards Graduation on Friday June 4 in the classroom. It will start at 1:15pm and end around 1:30pm. Family is not allowed on campus yet, but family members can attend virtually via the Google Meet link. I will send the link on Thursday so you have it and can give it to others.
The face to face students will have a party on Friday from 2:30 - 3:30 with dismissal following the party.
REMINDER: May homework calendar is in backpack and sent in Remind.
REMINDER: The Circle test has finished. Continue to support your child at home reviewing these skills: Rapid letter naming, rhyming words (Example: play, way....talk, walk....out, up...ask "Do they rhyme?), onset and rime (Example: /h/ /en/ "What word do you hear? "hen", /m/ /ix/ ... mix), alliteration (Example: square, soon ... Ask "Do they begin with the same sound?" Yes.. nice, nest "Do they begin with the same sound?" Yes. gum, door "Do they begin with the same sound?" No...). If you have questions, let me know.
REMINDER: Starting this Tuesday and every Tuesday, your child will attend a mindfulness class virtually. Yogiños Yoga for Youth will teach your child from 9:30 am - 9:50 am.
REMINDER: Your child will not be able to change their learning option this school year.
REMINDER: We are practicing taking turns with our classroom jobs: Forky to the Front is our line leader being first in line. Deputy at the Door is our door holder helping hands and is second in line. Rex of the Room is our teacher assistant and is third in line. The rest of the class is Toy Story Town. Buzz Light Switch is our light person and they are last. Please discuss the jobs and remind your child to not get upset if they don't have the job they want. One day they will. We are taking turns.
REMINDER: The Circle Assessment Round 2 ended in January. Continue to flashcard the alphabet in random order (Example: q, B, l, i, Z, t). The assessment gives your child 3 seconds to name the letter.
REMINDER: Please send your child's washed nap blanket with them on the first day of the week.
REMINDER: Please have an extra pair of clothes, extra masks and a healthy snack and bottled water in your child's backpack everyday.
REMINDER: The season is winter. The weather changes. On cool and cold days, tell your child they can not wear hoods/hats and gloves in the classroom or the hallways.
REMINDER: Mrs. Busti is our teacher aide. She is a wonderful addition to support your child in Pre-K.
REMINDER: Sign the Tuesday Folder. Talk with your child about the conduct key and codes. Return it Wednesday.
REMINDER: April homework calendar. It's in their blue folder. It will be checked every Friday.
